Anxious competitors concentrated their thoughts, efforts, and instincts with strategies that would help bring in enough poundage to make Friday’s top twenty percent cut. ATLANTA to host $2.5 million FORREST Wood CUP IN 2010
December 16, 2008 - ATLANTA (Dec. 16, 2008) – FLW Outdoors® and the State of Georgia, in conjunction with the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau and local authorities, announced Tuesday that Atlanta will play host to the world’s richest bass-fishing championship, the $2.5 million Forrest Wood Cup presented by BP and Castrol, Aug. 5-8, 2010, along with the National Guard Junior World Championship from Aug. 6-7, 2010.

October 11, 2008 - (Oct. 11, 2008 – Richmond, VA)... The third event in the 2008 Fishers of Men Regional Championship Series came to a close today as Bobby Barfield and Blake Sharp (VA-E), in their first season of fishing the FOM Trail, won their first major tournament and the top prize: a new 2008 Triton “18-HP Explorer” powered by a 150 hp Mercury Optimax outboard, valued at over $25,000.00. Blake and Bobby also received Championship Plaques, a cash award for 2nd Big Bass, and money in the “Bonus Bucks” program. DEEDS LEADS WAL-MART FLW SERIES EVENT ON WHEELER LAKE
March 26, 2008 - Pro Jake Deeds of El Dorado, Ark., landed five bass weighing 18 pounds, 3 ounces Wednesday to lead day one of the Wal-Mart FLW Series® BP Eastern Division tournament on Wheeler Lake. He now holds a 3-ounce lead in the $1 million tournament featuring 184 pros and 184 co-anglers representing 34 states, Japan and Canada.
